Secretary......or......Quilter

My grand daughter Julia (age 2) is trying out this big black clunker...that old people call a typewriter

Shopping for thread and fabric (with the help of cookie monster and elmo) is much more fun.

Can you say "fat quarter"?

Tuscan Village

This was a project from a quilt magazine over several issues. I was ready to take on an applique project. After a couple years I finally finished it. It ended up different than the magazine suggested, but I enjoyed giving it my touch.

COLORS

Several years ago I won a pack of hand-dyed wool squares. When I saw this idea, it seemed to be the perfect use for the COLORS

Little Dresses for Haiti

I heard about the efforts to make dresses for the little girls in Haiti by a catholic parish in Appleton. Looked like something I would enjoy (and we all know I have a bit of fabric on hand), so I pulled out some fabric, trims, ric rac, binding and made a dress. No stopping there.......

I stitched all Labor Day weekend and on Tuesday I delivered 18 dresses to the church. Plan to make more...between other projects So much fun and the little girls will enjoy them.

QUILT CHALLENGE #5

I am still figuring out how to add multiple images, so hope this isn't too confusing

This one Heather made for me...love the initials....and the "chef" one she made for Gloria.

Gloria made this one for Heather

Gloria made this one for me....Packer theme, complete with a wedge of cheese.

I made the one on the left for Heather and one on right for Gloria. Loved the fruit and vegetable fabric....so also added a trimmed towel. We all know how messy it gets in the kitchen :)

Heather (my daughter) and Gloria (her mother-in-law) and I have been setting up quilt challenges. This time it was my turn to present the challenge. I decided we all needed a new apron - or two, so each of us would make an apron for the other two.

These are the aprons I made. The one on left for Heather and one on right for Gloria. Loved the fruit and vegetable fabric, so also trimmed a towel.

QUILTER'S BOOKSHELF

Always on the look for a way to use up my growing stash of selvages. Saw this idea on a selvage blog and had to give it a try. 7 inches square and so much fun!

Spicy Spiral

Finally finished my newest table runner. I kept putting it off because it looked so complicated, however it was easy once I got started. Maybe I'll make another one.........

Springtime...

We are still buried in snow, but Spring has sprung and Easter is weeks away. Saw this egg shaped table mat at a quilt show - loved it - so I made one.

Wool Elephant

During Heather's last visit, we dug out the felted sweaters and made fish for Ben and Julia. Also make this elephant from Heather's pattern.

Baby Quilt

These fabrics were leftover from a magazine entry (birds) so decided they would make a cute baby quilt.

New House - New Quilt

OK....I found this quilt kit and it matched my new fireplace. Had to get it!

1st quilt in new studio

"Ma Says..."
Several years ago I purchased the patterns for these clever bits of advice by Jeanie Rudich. The finished squares joined my stack of UFO's.
Finally the quilt is finished
